Fujifilm announces first US sale of J Press FP790

Fujifilm North America Corporation, Business Innovation Division, has announced the first US purchase of its Fujifilm J Press FP790 Digital Flexible Packaging Press by Quantum Flex Pack. This sale represents the sixth J Press FP790 sale globally since the product’s launch.

Fujifilm’s installation of the J Press FP790 at Quantum’s plant, based in Rockford, IL, began earlier this month.

• Using 1200 X 1200 dpi resolutions with CMYK inks, J Press FP790 achieves Pantone colors without more costly spot color inks. It also uses two white ink channels for delivering high white opacity.
• Water-based inks with 1200 dpi x 1200 dpi resolution for sharp, high-quality images.
• An integrated inspection tower for real-time quality control.
• Reductions in lead times, thanks to the elimination of setup requirements.
• Produces ultra-high quality and wider gamut print quality. This makes it possible to convert or work in collaboration with analog flexo and rotogravure jobs to digital.
• Fits easily into existing flexible packaging production processes.
• Fujifilm employs water-based primers and inkjet technologies, which enhances a more sustainable output solution. The J Press FP790 also reduces waste and the number of consumables used as associated with traditional analog production of a similar nature.
